The City of Trail is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to fill a casual maintenance position in the Parks and Recreation Department. Reporting to the Working Maintenance Foreman, the casual maintenance employee participates in the operation, maintenance and cleaning of the City’s parks and recreational facilities. This position requires excellent customer service skills along with an aptitude for pool and ice maintenance, janitorial work, and event and program production.
Desirable qualifications include (applicants not possessing these specific certifications may be considered):
- Refrigeration Safety Awareness certification, as recognized under the BC Pressure Vessels and Boilers Act
- Pool Operator Level I and II certification
- RFABC Ice making certification
- Building Service Worker certification, with WHMIS
- Occupational First Aid, Level I
- Grade 12 education
- Valid BC Driver’s License

This position is within the CUPE Local 2087 Bargaining Unit and involves evening and weekend work. Wages and benefits are as per the Collective Agreement.
