**Important Information for TD Bank Customers using Online Banking**

The City of Trail has experienced technical issues regarding tax payment notifications from TD Bank customers.  This relates to property tax EFT payments from those who bank with TD Bank.  Because of this, you may have incorrectly received a ‘Notice of Outstanding 2019 Property Taxes’.  Please know, the City is working with the TD Bank, its phone service provider and its IT and Finance Departments to determine the source of the issue and a fix as soon as possible.  The City of Trail apologizes for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused

**Important Information for Online Payments using the City’s Online Payment System**

The City of Trail’s online payment portal has been experiencing issues beyond the control of the Municipality. Most notably, the proper screen is not appearing when looking to make a payment. If you select the Online Payment tab numerous times, the correct screen may appear. The City’s software provider recommends using Chrome or Firefox when accessing the City of Trail’s online portal; however, this still may not fix the issue. Unfortunately, the City’s software provider has not determined the cause of the issue and cannot predict when there will be a solution. The City of Trail apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

The City of Trail recommends making payments through online banking, i.e., your financial institution, or please call 250-364-1262 for more options.

Claiming your Home Owner Grant

If you are claiming your Home Owner Grant (HOG), this must be done prior to Paying your Property Tax.  This can also be done online.  Follow our How-To Video series to Claim your HOG and Pay your Property Taxes, as seen below.

Please note that claiming the Home Owner Grant online and paying your property taxes online is a two-step process. Once you have completed the Home Owner Grant online application and noted your confirmation code, you must then go back and remit payment for the balance owing of property taxes. If you claim the Home Owner Grant online, you do not need to provide the original claim form to City Hall. If you are claiming the additional grant due to disability, supporting documentation must be provided to City Hall staff. Always make note of your confirmation code(s) for your records.

If you are eligible for the Home Owner Grant but decide not to claim it online, you must be sure to remit the completed Home Owner Grant application to City Hall.

If paying your Property Taxes at City Hall, the City accepts cash, cheque, VISA, MASTERCARD.
