Vehicles that are used for the collection or delivery of merchandise or other commodities must display a commercial use decal. Vehicles with a valid BC municipal decal can stop in commercial loading zones and lanes for up to 30 minutes to load and unload materials.

Special Use Parking Permits
Special use parking permits may be issued to a merchant who delivers or conducts service work at multiple locations within Trail’s downtown core. The special use permit entitles the bearer to park without charge at any metered space.
Renew your commercial and special use permits annually.
The licence period is from January 1st to December 31st of each year. The fee for the BC municipal decal is based on the GVW (gross vehicle weight) of the vehicle and ranges from $25 to $40. The fee for a special use permit is $75.
Decals and special use permits can be renewed for the following year starting on November 1st.

Apply at City Hall in person. Bring current ICBC vehicle registration and insurance documents that show the vehicle is being used for business use.
